§ 01 · The Structure
Storage and compound program, resolved as a single building.
The garage sits at the top of the site — the first structure you reach on the approach. It handles the practical program a Muskoka property of this scale demands: covered boat storage, mechanical space, seasonal equipment, a workshop. The form is straightforward. Gabled roof, vertical siding in the same dark stain as the main cottage, steel hardware throughout. Nothing announces itself.
Napier Valley Construction built the garage as part of the full compound package — same crew, same tolerance for detail. The result is a building that reads as utilitarian from a distance and precise up close.
